Vicki's Edit: Bridal Unpopular Opinions.

Over the pass couple of weeks you may have seen the soical trend going round of bridal boutiques sharing their unpopular opinions. I'll be honest alot of us are all singing from the same hyme sheet, but we thought here at Vicki's Bridal Boutique in Tenterden, Kent we would jump on the band wagon for a little bit of fun. So here goes ...

"TIMELESS"

A wedding dress doesn't have to be "timeless". Your wedding dress doesn't need to be "on trend" in 10, 20 years time. Wedding dresses change with time. Fashion evolves and so do we! When you get married it is a celebration of who you are in that moment. The likelihood is you will be a different version of yourselves in 10 years time. But you will always look back on your wedding dress with love because it was the dress you got married in. Stop looking for timeless. Look for a wedding dress that celebrates who you are now.

YOU CAN SHOP ON YOUR OWN

Plan your wedding dress shopping for yourself and not for everyone else. Everyone loves this part of the wedding planning and it can be very easy to fall in to the trap of trying to please Mum, Nan, Aunty, MIL, Bridesmaids and lose sight of what you actually want. It is ok to keep your group small or even just you, wedding dress shopping doesn't need to be a big specular if that is not what you are about. Save it for the Hen-Do and actual wedding. This is an important decision for YOU and you want to make sure it is yours. Don't be afraid to stick to your guns, explain your process and there is always lots of other opportunities to involve people once you have found 'The One' in collection and fittings.

YOU'RE NOT INDECISIVE

The first thing we hear from brides when they walk in more often than not is 'I'm so indecisive I don't know how I going to choose.' But we have a strong suspicion that this is not quite the case. From the moment you start planning you are making decisions left, right and centre, including where to visit when it comes to dress shopping. Our belief is actually you are fab at making decisions but you are just scared to make the wrong one when it comes to the most important dress you will buy. But just like all the other choices you have made so far, trust your gut. If you are excited to put her on and feel special in her, then you can't go wrong.
