Vicki's Bride Gets Married: Sophie Brandon

Vicki's Bride Gets Married and shares her experience!

Our lovely Vicki’s Bride Sophie got married in April 2023. We first met Sophie in August 2022 when she had her first appointment with us at Vicki's Bridal Boutique in Tenterden, Kent. Over the past few months, we have loved being part of Sophie's wedding journey and even helped her lovely Matt with her wedding gift, as well as the all important Wedding Bands. So we asked if she would share her experience at Vicki's Bridal Boutique and a bit about her wedding dress journey and her Big Day with us.

Why did you choose to visit Vicki’s Bridal Boutique, Tenterden, Kent?
Bride said yes to her dress at Vicki's Bridal Boutique

I choose to try Vicki’s initially after a few bad experiences and feeling at a loss. I wanted to see what was more local to me also, and after a few friendly welcoming messages back and forth I decided to try again. The whole experience was totally different and made me feel happy and excited again regardless of if I found a dress.

What surprised you most about wedding dress shopping?

I was surprised by actually how rude some of the larger chains and shops could be! I was taken aback by the huge variety of styles, shapes and materials, Vicki’s simplified this experience for me and it became so much more enjoyable.

How did you know it was ‘The One’?

I knew my dress was the one after refusing to try it on, then coming back to try it on after, as it was playing on my mind. I loved it and I FaceTimed the biggest critique (my Mum) and she loved it! I actually ordered my dress in a different version, so had a few freak-outs as I couldn’t actually see fully what it would be like without the layer. I went back a few times to try it on or see it. And the girls were reassuring and kept me on the right path without telling me what to do! … Thank you as she was my dream dress. ❤

Tell us about your Wedding?

We got married at the stunning Westenhanger Castle and had a personalised celebrant led wedding. We had an amazing day, full of fun, laughter, love and questionable dancing!

What was your best bit of your day?

The best bit of my day was being with my family and friends to celebrate mine and my husband's journey and love. ❤

What words of advice do you have for Brides-to-be before choosing their dress?

Be open-minded, try on things you don’t think you would like, as they will look different on. Try on each style to whittle down what styles you like. Take minimal people with you, so you don’t get too many opinions.

Sophie wore the gorgeous Pheobe by Ellis Bridals without the layer, teamed with Chapel length scatter veil

by Nieve Couture. Her lovely now husband Matt added the finishing touches to her look with a gorgeous set of fresh water pearl earrings and matching necklace by IJ Avenue. And I think you would agree, she looks stunning. We also helped Sophie and Matt find their wedding bands with BWR London, after Sophie initially came to us to find one for Matt, they had a home visit with Phil who helped them each choose their rings. We wish Sophie and Matt many years of happiness, and Thank you for choosing to become a #vickisbride.

If you are a bride to be and planning your wedding we hope Sophie's experience encourages you to book an appointment at Vicki's Bridal Boutique! We can't wait to help you find your wedding dress!
