Spotlight Bride of the Month: Charlotte

Updated: Jun 4

This month we are shining the Vicki's Spotlight on our lovely bride Charlotte, who got married last spring.

Charlotte has kindly agreed to share with us her and Michael wedding story.

So let's start at the beginning, how did Michael propose?

Michael proposed in March 2020 during the start of lockdown, it was a simple but beautiful proposal whilst we were walking on our favourite route, surrounded by nature.

Oh, beautiful and what a way to stay in your engagement bubble. When and where did you get married?

We got married on the 18th April 2024 at the Gardens, Yalding, Kent.

Stunning venue, now tell us about your colour them?

We decided on ‘colourful chaos’ theme for the wedding, Michael works with roses day to day so worked closely with the florist (Suzanne from the Flowersmiths) to create the vision - mainly, pinks, yellows, oranges & red. We wanted a relaxed style whilst still being absolutely gorgeous.

And as we can see from the photos, that was very much achieved. What one piece of advice would you give a bride and groom when planning their wedding?

My advice would be to get as much organised as early as possible in terms of wedding planning, so you can enjoy the last weeks leading up to the wedding rather than being stressed about everything left to do. Stress can take away from the excitement, so we avoided it as much as possible.

That is perfect advice!! So now the exciting bit, tell us about your dress shopping.

I originally met Megan & Hannah at a rustic wedding fair in Otham, they are the most wonderful women that I had absolutely no doubt that their boutique would be where I bought my dress. Not only did I meet Hannah & Megan that day, I also saw what was to become my dress. It was the first dress I tried on and the whole experience at Vicki’s bridal was just perfect, couldn’t have been more relaxed, and although I knew exactly what dress I wanted there were so many beautiful dresses there it did make it hard to choose!

We do always love the Rustic Wedding Fair. What was a highlight of your Big Day?

My highlight of the wedding day was walking down the aisle together after we got married, the ceremony was a blur but walking as a newly married couple was the best feeling in the world.

Love that so much! Now I know this a tricky one but to finish off, your favourite photo? Taken by the professional or a guest.

It’s so hard to choose a favourite photo, Florence did an exceptional job...
