Are you a 2023 bride? Have you got your dress? Have you even started shopping for your dress? …. If you answered these questions with the following ‘Yes’, ‘No’ and ‘No’ it’s time to put dress shopping to the top of your wedding to-do list.

When it comes to dress shopping, like anything to do with weddings really the more time you have the less stress you have. At Vicki’s our lead times are quite short but you are still looking at anything between 12-16 weeks and you then want to allow alterations once your dress has arrived. With your big day being next year it is never too early to get your dream dress but I can be too late.

If like many brides you are losing weight then dresses can be taken in and you need to be realistic with only a year to go, how much you are going to lose before using it as a reason to put off shopping. If you love yourself in a dress just as you are, then imagine how amazing you feel when you love yourself?

Or if you're just not a fan of shopping and this is an experience you're dreading, then leaving it to the last minute is not the answer. If anything, getting it ticked off first means you can enjoy the rest of your planning more, especially when you realise it’s not that scary after all.

At Vicki’s we will always do all we can to help you find your dream dress and show you that shopping for your dress can be a fun and relaxed experience. At your appointment with us, you are in charge and we follow your lead. If you are working with a tighter time frame, then we will do all we can to get you THE dress.

So this is our call to all 2023 brides to avoid the stress and get the dress!!

Bookings can be made online at https://www.vickisbride.co.uk/book-online 💕

In the bridal world the arrival of September means only one thing … Harrogate Bridal Week #thehomeofbridal!! What is Bridal Week, I hear you ask? Basically, this is our playground, where we can meet up with friends in the industry, discovery new designers in all things bridal and check out the trends for the upcoming year.

This year was our first one and we have been so excited ever since we came back from London Bridal Week back in March. So whilst everyone else was still fast asleep, Megan came and picked me up and we set off on the 4-hour journey up to Yorkshire.

Once we arrived in beautiful Harrogate, we very classily, quickly done our make-up in the hotel toilets before heading off to Afternoon Tea at the renowned Betty’s Tearooms with our follow bridal boutique owner Ashleigh and Michelle from Ashleigh Richards in Nottingham, who we have been in touch with ever since London Bridal Week.

Feeling recharged and full of cake, we passed round the check, bags on the shoulders and off we headed to Bridal Week. Now we had been told by so many people that Harrogate ‘is the one!’, ‘if you loved London, Harrogate will blow your mind!’ ‘Harrogate is so much bigger.’ and they weren’t lying!! Spread over the whole building in multiple halls, we wandered round in a sea of stain, glitter and tulle getting our bearings.

One of the highlights was the Fashion Show and this one we got to share the lovely Lorraine owner of Olive Blossom in Hampshire. We have spoken to Lorraine on socials since we opened as she opened the same time as us and it was so lovely to actually get to meet her in person. The Royal Hall was the perfect backdrop for the amazing display of dresses, although if we are honest our favourites were still Kelsey Rose and Ellis Bridals!!

Fashion show done it was time to start our meetings with designers, Bridal Week is a great way to see different designers all under the same roof to see who will be a good fit. We pride ourselves on making sure our brides have the best British brands to choose from and we always value your opinions, which is why we always take you all shopping with us on Instagram stories. First day done, we headed across the road to check in at the hotel, loving the fact we didn’t need to travel far, our room even had a view of Bridal Week. All our best business chat comes over dinner and glass of wine so it seemed only right that this is how we ended our first day. And maybe a cheeky cake in bed! 😏

Up and dressed for business, we set off for our second day after booking a last minute appointment with a new potential designer, we had a ram packed day. But first off, it was only right we popped into see the fabulous Studio Ellis team to say hi. After a couple of hours of seeing too many beautiful dresses, our last stop was Nieve Couture to see the lovely Christine to look at all things dresses and veils.

All in all, Bridal Week was a success and full of inspiration, so all we can say is watch this space!!

This week we are shining our spotlight on our 1950’s inspired designer House of Mooshki. They specialise in creating gorgeous tea-length dresses which are every bit as bridal as a ball gown.

Florabel by House of Mooshki

House of Mooshki was Established by Vikki McCarthy in the North East of England with the simple ethos to help brides design the dress of their dreams. Reiterated in her own words Vikki states that;

‘Whatever your requirements, House of Mooshki are here to help you realise your vision, whilst keeping the price affordable.’

With Mooshki we are able to work with the bride and themselves to make sure we can help create the perfect dress, whether that be a change of colour, different skirt style (there are 7 to choose from) or even a design change such as adding a sleeve. The world really is your oyster and what’s even more, Mooshki pride themselves with being able to offer all of this whilst still having a small turn around of 12-16 weeks.

Inspired by the most elegant women and arguably the most celebrated style icon of the 1940’s and 1950’s,such as Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. With each new design they ask would Audrey or Grace wear this?, making sure they are staying true to their inspiration.

With designs that are so unique Mooshki is certainly for a particular bride, so if you think you are that bride head over to our website www.vickisbride.co.uk to book in and try our collection.
